Vice President of Manufacturing

A global manufacturer of engineered electronic and power systems supporting several high-growth industrial and technology end markets. The company runs a distributed network of contract manufacturing partners across Asia and the Americas, with operational excellence and continuous improvement as core to how it competes.

About the Role

A senior leadership mandate to build and run the company's external manufacturing network from the ground up. You'll own partner performance across a broad range of electronics and electromechanical processes, from component-level assemblies through full box-build systems, working with a partner base spread across multiple manufacturing hubs in Asia and North America. This is as much a team-building role as an operational one: you'll stand up a regional presence close to key partners and make safety, quality, delivery, and cost the standard everywhere the network touches.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the strategy, governance model, and operating cadence for a global network of external manufacturing partners.
• Build a regionally embedded team positioned close to key partner sites across Asia and the Americas.
• Hold partners accountable to a consistent bar on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
• Stand up KPI systems, scorecards, and executive business reviews that give real visibility into partner performance.
• Own readiness for new product introductions, product transfers, and volume ramps across the network.
• Shape the long-term footprint, capacity plan, and cost structure of the external manufacturing base.
• Push continuous improvement into partner operations, including yield, OEE, and cycle time gains.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to design for manufacturability from the outset.
• Step into underperforming partner relationships and lead structured turnaround plans.

Key Requirements

• 15 years or more in manufacturing and operations leadership, with meaningful time in outsourced or contract manufacturing.
• Hands-on depth across electronics manufacturing processes: SMT, PCBA, cable and magnetic component assembly, and system-level integration.
• A track record running global EMS relationships and multi-tier supply chains in high-mix, high-reliability settings.
• Evidence of leading operational excellence transformations, not just maintaining an existing system.
• Experience carrying products through NPI, transfer, and scale-up across regions.
• Strong commercial instincts, comfortable connecting operational decisions to margin and growth.
• Executive-level presence in a global, matrixed organisation.
• Time spent leading manufacturing teams based in Asia is a strong plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA a plus.
